Owner/Academic Administrator
Melissa brought BBI to life with her vision to create a top-notch educational experience for future stylists. With 24 years as a leading professional in the beauty industry, her experience as a salon owner, and her extensive knowledge of what it takes to be a top stylist have given her the tools and expertise to bring Bloom Beauty Institute to life.
Melissa has expanded her expertise as licensed Cosmetologist and Barber with certifications in Brazilian Blowouts, Bellami hair extensions, halos, hair toppers, and she has completed comprehensive laser training at the NIMA Institute.
Melissa is passionate about about all things beauty and the confidence that it can create. Her primary goal is to nurture talented hairstylists who have the confidence to create stunning results from the moment they step into the salon. With her kind, can-do energy, she offers generous support and motivation to her students and staff.
Having owned her own salon, Melissa discovered her true calling for mentoring the next generation of stylists. She is thrilled to share her extensive knowledge and insights, guiding students through the highs and lows of the industry. Melissa is excited to help each student "bloom" into what they were created to be at BBI.
Wendy Lynn
Expert Floor Educator
Wendy is a dedicated leader with nearly two decades of experience in the beauty industry. Wendy is a Certified Brazilian Blowout Stylist with many skills and talents. She specializes in haircuts for the whole family and excels in color services, among others.
Her love for helping people, her incredible work ethic, and loyal customer service skills have all earned her a loyal following throughout her career as a professional stylist.
Wendy has been a pristine example of what it takes to be a top stylist. She has been beloved by so many loyal clients, many who have followed her faithfully for over 20 years. Lacey Gray
LABB Class Educator
Lacey is a vibrant beauty professional with a decade of experience as a professional stylist.
Lacey has earned certifications in Brazilian Blowout, Cinderella Hair Extensions, and loves creating blended balayages, foilayages, root melts, icy blonde highlights, haircuts and more.
Throughout her career, Lacey has worked at a few salons, leveraging her graphic design skills, digital marketing and customer service skills.
She is passionate about teaching our students the science behind hair and helping them build a strong foundation of knowledge and technical skills to succeed as professional stylists.
She loves to create innovative ways to streamline salon operations and improve efficiency. As our very own in-house tech expert, website designer, and educator, she also brings a unique blend of creativity and technical know-how.
Lacey is excited to share her expertise with her students to help them become polished professionals, capable of achieving anything they set their minds to. Her fun, friendly energy makes learning a breeze.
April Helms
Expert Floor Educator
April is an expert stylist with 22 years of success and knowledge as a professional stylist and educator. April specializes in blonde hair color, extensions, curly hair and much more.
Passionate about teaching the realities of the beauty industry, she aims to equip each student with the education and tools they need to have confidence and motivation in their new careers.
April is dedicated to helping students navigate the industry with the knowledge needed to become the best of the best. She believes that professionals should follow their passion, work hard, and never stop learning. In an industry that never stops evolving, there is always room for growth.
With a caring, and understanding outlook on education, she emphasizes the importance of "knowing your worth". Emily Kemper
Expert Educator
Emily brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for the beauty industry to our team with her 16 years of experience.
Specializing in haircutting, hairstyling, makeup, waxing, nail care, and formal updos, Emily combines her technical skills with exceptional customer service and product knowledge.
As a cosmetology educator for six years, Emily has taught and lead education in all subjects. Her commitment to professional development is evident through her Milady Advanced Master Educator award and her continued education in teaching methodology. Her real-life experiences enrich her lessons, making learning both practical and engaging for students.
As a salon owner and active participant in industry events, Emily stays at the forefront of beauty trends, eager to share the latest techniques with her students. She truly loves being part of this industry and looks forward to being an Educator and Stylist everyday.
She is thankful for her career, and all that God has done in her life. She feels incredibly blessed to be where she is today and that all started with beauty school.
